Custom OEM Drone Battery Packs, Engineered to Your Airframe

Off-the-shelf batteries force your airframe to adapt to the pack. Custom OEM reverses that: the pack is engineered to your airframe — your voltage, your capacity, your form factor, your BMS, your connector, your certification requirements.

As a direct cell-to-pack manufacturer (not a reseller), WES controls the entire chain from cell production to final assembly. That single fact changes everything about cost, consistency, and speed for B2B buyers.

What We Customize

  • Chemistry. Semi-solid for heavy-lift and agriculture, high-rate LiPo for burst, Li-ion for endurance. We start from the mission and pick the cell that fits — not the other way around. See LiPo vs Li-ion vs Semi-Solid to understand the trade-offs.
  • Voltage and configuration. Any series/parallel layout, from compact 3S packs to industrial 24S systems. Our production line already covers 6S LiPo packs, 14S agriculture packs, and 24S 70Ah heavy-lift systems.
  • Form factor. Pouch, cylindrical, or prismatic — shaped and mounted to your frame, with your preferred mechanical interface.
  • BMS and communication. Smart BMS with SMBus, CAN, UART, or RS485 — fuel gauge, balancing, thermal protection, and telemetry integrated to your stack.
  • Connectors. XT60, XT90, EC5, AS150, JST-XH balance leads, or fully custom. Custom connectors are available on request.
  • Certification. UN38.3, IEC 62133, UL 1642, CE, CB, RoHS — validated as required for your target market.

The OEM Process

A mature program runs through five stages, each with clear deliverables:

  1. Requirement definition — mission profile, environment, volume forecast, target cost. We translate "we need 45 minutes at 20kg payload" into engineering specs.
  2. Engineering and design — cell selection, pack layout, thermal strategy, BMS selection, DFM review.
  3. Prototyping — functional samples for bench and flight testing, iterated until the pack meets your spec.
  4. Validation — cycle life, thermal abuse, vibration, and transport testing to your compliance targets.
  5. Mass production — tooling, in-line QC, and scheduled delivery to your build plan.

Cell-to-pack production under one roof: from electrode and cell assembly through pack integration and end-of-line QC.

Timeline: first samples typically arrive in weeks, depending on cell availability and BMS complexity. Fully custom form factors require additional tooling time.

MOQ and lead time depend on cell selection, tooling, and BMS. Semi-custom packs built from existing cells and tooling carry modest MOQs; fully bespoke form factors require higher volume commitments. Contact us with your target volume, and we will return a specific quotation.

Why WES

  • Direct manufacturer. We make the cells and the packs — no middlemen, no markup, full traceability.
  • Industrial-grade validation. Every program runs through cycle-life, thermal-abuse, and vibration testing beyond consumer standards.
  • Proven in the field. Production packs already power agricultural spraying, heavy-lift logistics, underwater robotics, and quadruped platforms.
  • Quality systems you can audit. IATF 16949-aligned processes and a full battery-certification portfolio.
  • Scale-ready. From pilot batches to fleet-scale volume, with on-time delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the custom drone battery OEM process work?

You provide a mission profile and target specifications; we engineer a pack to your form factor, voltage, capacity, BMS, and connector, then build prototypes, validate them, and move to mass production. First samples typically arrive within weeks, depending on cell and BMS availability.

Can I get a battery with a custom voltage, capacity, size and connector?

Yes. Voltage (3S to 24S+), capacity, physical form factor, BMS communication protocol, and connectors are all customizable. Connectors include XT60, XT90, EC5, AS150, and JST-XH, with fully custom options available on request.

What is the typical MOQ and lead time for a custom battery pack?

Both depend on cell selection, tooling, and BMS complexity. Semi-custom packs built from existing cells and tooling have modest MOQs and weeks-long lead times; fully bespoke form factors require higher volume commitments and additional tooling time. Contact us with your target volume for a specific quotation.

Do you provide the certifications needed for export?

Yes. We validate packs to UN38.3, IEC 62133, UL 1642, CE, CB, and RoHS as required by your target market, and we operate IATF 16949-aligned quality processes.

Are you a manufacturer or a reseller?

WES is a direct cell-to-pack manufacturer. We produce the cells and assemble the packs in-house, which gives you full traceability, better cost, and faster engineering turnarounds than a reseller can offer.
